The new S4-3.2 – the basic machine for single jersey constructions with 1 to 4 needle tracks.
At first glance, there is little to distinguish the S4-3.2 from the familiar look of any other Mayer & Cie. knitting machine. And Mayer & Cie. expressly emphasizes that this exceptionally affordable machine has been blessed with all the positive attributes of a customary MCT machine – which include reliability, high output and exemplary fabric quality. Where the S4-3.2 differs is in aspects such as simplified operation with the use of symbols instead of plain text information in the control system. Further savings were made particularly in the machine’s periphery. Rotation technology has been used for the takedown (wrapping winder mechanism), the yarn feeder rings are permanently mounted, the sinker cams are configured as individual segments and the cylinder cam boxes are not fitted with a
diagonal stitch cam. Certain accessories are offered as an optional extra. Particular attention has also been paid by the designers to achieve the greatest possible degree of standardization. This means that the machine is designed to be fitted with needles and sinkers which can be obtained anywhere in the world. The S4-3.2 will initially be available only with a gantry frame (for 380 mm fabric bales) and for the present will be offered in only 2 diameters (30 und 34“). The gauge ranges are limited to E 18 to E 32.
With its Basic Line series machines, Mayer & Cie. aims to make top quality knitting technology accessible to circular knitting factories whose investment capacity has prevented them from considering Mayer & Cie. in the past.
Stripes with up to 10 colours using relative movement technology – Relanit 1.6 R.
Today, relative movement technology – a Mayer & Cie. development – is the undisputed single jersey standard, and lends itself particularly also to the production of striped fabrics. One of the reasons is that there is nothing obscuring direct access to the needle bed – making this the ideal machine design for the use of striping attachments. The Relanit 1.6 R with its 6-colour striping facility using
2 feeders and elastomer plating has been and still continues to be particularly successful. The trend towards striping of as many colours as possible moved Mayer & Cie. to develop 5-colour striping attachments. These now open up scope for producing 10-colour stripes using two feeders.
Mayer & Cie. has registered this new striping concept using 2 feeders as a patent.
The Relanit 1.6 R with 10 colour striping using 2 feeders and elastomer plating will be on show for the first time in China at the Shanghai-Tex.
Initially, it was a special software control system which paved the way for the 10-colour striping facility. For the first time, this modified Rapport 2.0 software has opened up scope for reading in graphics in BMP format, and automatically determining the number of stripes. The next stage was for Mayer & Cie. to develop special striping attachments. These were also on show in the OVJA 1.1 TTRB exhibited at the ITMA 2003. These developments by Mayer & Cie. mark the beginning of a whole new dimension in striping versatility for implementation of the latest fashion trends.
Electronic Jacquard with transfer – OVJA 1.6 ET.
With its OVJA 1.6 ET, Mayer & Cie. will be exhibiting a fully electronic circular knitting machine with transfer facility in gauge E 18 with 30“ diameter. This universal and highly productive jacquard and fine rib circular knitting machine benefits from extreme operating simplicity, maximum safety and reliability, as well as enormous patterning variety coupled with additional transfer capability. Machine productive time has been substantially increased as a result of reduced resetting times achieved by tried and tested fully electronic control from Mayer & Cie. and externally adjustable cams in the dial.
Summary.
The textile markets are undergoing a process of transformation. When it comes to their machine equipment, what circular knitting factories require first and foremost are partners whose approach is not based on individual machines but on custom-tailored machine solutions for the textile markets of today and tomorrow. No matter whether a circular knitting factor envisages its future in the high volume sector or in niche production – Mayer & Cie. has ideally tailored solutions to offer every time: Solutions which will be instrumental in shaping a successful future in ever more liberalized markets. The 3 exhibits on show at the ShanghaiTex are representative of the entire Mayer & Cie. range – or put another way, they offer the vision of a successful future for the modern circular knitting factory.
