The SF4-3.2 for three-thread fleece is the latest model in the successful BASICLine machine series, and offers every conceivable requirement for light to heavyweight three-thread fleece and 4 needle structures. Like all the BASICLine machines, this is a highly productive model capable of achieving extremely economical production coupled with top knitted fabric quality. Another feature of the new machine is its extensive fabric weight adjustment range. This is simply and precisely achieved with central height setting and precision adjustment by means of vertical stitch formation. Lightweight elastic fleece fabrics pose something of a problem for many circular knitting machines. For the SF4-3.2, Mayer & Cie. developed a special insertion technique for the lay-in thread which ensures reliable knitting of elastic lightweight fleece fabrics to an exemplary standard of quality. Its high degree of flexibility is extended still further by facility for simple conversion to a S4-3.2 model for single-jersey and structures, for which Mayer & Cie. offers an affordable conversion kit. As in all the BASICLine series machines, the needles and sinkers are standard knitting elements. The portal frame with its 480 mm fabric roll capacity comes as standard. An optional folding device is also available. To help avoid fold lines, particularly when working with sensitive yarns,
Mayer & Cie. offers an open-width frame for 280 mm fabric rolls.
The SF4-3.2 is offered in diameters ranging from 30“ to 38“ and in machine gauges E 18 to E 24. It works with 3.2 feeders per inch and achieves an output of 1.4 m/s, which corresponds to 35 rpm with a 30“ diameter.
S4-3.2 R for fashion stripes and high output with basic fabrics.
Stripes are currently right in vogue. Following the highly successful market launch of BasicLine S4-3.2, this product line has now been extended to include a striping version.
At the Shanghai-Tex, the S4-3.2 R with up to 6 colour striping over 1.6 feeders was unveiled. Just like other Mayer machine ranges, BASICLine machines with striping facility benefit from the use of proven MCT striping technology whose mechanical function sequence is used with outstanding success in thousands of machines. This is an ingeniously simple method which is not only reliable and efficient but also guarantees high performance coupled with top fabric quality. Also impressive are the significantly reduced maintenance costs involved.
A totally new feature is the facility to replace non-knitting striping feeders by knitting feeders, so upgrading the machine to 3.2 feeders for basic fabrics. With this facility, the new S4-3.2 R combines scope for producing fashion stripes with high output for single jersey without stripes. This provides customers with the same extensive range of benefits in the field of striping which projected the BASICLine S4-3.2 to a forerunning best seller in just a few months: Optimum fabric qualities in single jersey, in 2 and 4 needle structures and in plated single jersey. Featuring up to 4 needle types for every 3 needle positions, the machine benefits from an additional range of knitting structures. This flexibility is enhanced still further by the facility for fast gauge changeover using Quick Change which allows a change of gauge without removing the striping attachments, so further reducing unproductive set-up times.
The fabric ranges covered by both machines are heavily in demand in China. The positive response showed the trade fair to be a resounding success, with a gratifying volume of follow-up business.
