Pattern preparation software upgrade from Mayer & Cie.
PIC 4 – even more versatile and user friendly.
At Mayer & Cie., the world’s leading manufacturer of circular knitting machines, PIC stands for Pattern Information Center. PIC software allows patterns to be generated with the utmost simplicity and transmitted to any electronic Mayer & Cie. jacquard machine in just seconds. System developers and programmers at Mayer & Cie. were concerned to make the application as simple to use as possible right from the start. Consequently, PIC works with a familiar Windows user interface, and the requirements for running the software are as basic as a Windows system from Windows 98 and 8 MB RAM in a PC with Pentium processor.
New features in the PIC 4 version include even greater user simplification and a range of extended functional features. Handling has also been made simpler by adding more icons for directly accessing functions previously only reached through the menu bar.
Another highly convenient new feature is the colour palette, which is now always visible on the screen surface and can be accessed direct. Knitwear producers with a creative flair will be particularly pleased about the extended patterning possibilities now included in the software specifically for transfer knits. PIC 4 is based on two components, the pattern editor and the repeat editor. The patterns are initially entered in the pattern editor, depicted and edited. These patterns can either be already existing graphic files or consist of data digitized using the scanner. Once the pattern has been defined, the components for the machine parameters are programmed in the repeat editor, whereby up to four different pattern areas can be simultaneously defined and repeatedly knitted. The pattern editor permits up to 16 colours, without the need for the pattern height to be divisible by number of machine revolutions.
The enormous versatility of the PIC 4 system is due to the addition of further editors for striping and transfer control, whereby the data can be automatically calculated on the basis of the pattern data from the pattern editor. In this process, for in-stance, the striping editor supports patterns with more than 4 colours.
The new pattern preparation system is available in the languages Chinese, German, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish.
PIC 4 is a logical further development designed to maximize the scope for more comprehensive, time saving and reliable use of the enormous pattern variety offered by electronic Mayer & Cie. Jacquard circular knitting machines.
As a result, PIC 4 not only supports creativity in terms of pattern design, but also makes a significant contribution towards increasing the productivity of every Mayer & Cie. electronic circular knitting machine.
