Albstadt Bike Marathon a success for the Mayer & Cie. MTB team
On the 12th of July once again the renown Albstadt Bike Marathon took place, and marked the second consecutive year in which the Mayer & Cie. MTB-Team participated.
The Mayer & Cie. MTB-Team was established last year for the first time to compete in the Albstadt Bike Marathon and is comprised of several Mayer & Cie. employees. The team is supported by Mayer & Cie. and the participants were Micheal Alber, Hans-Albert Beck, Ramon Clavijo, Axel Conzelmann, Gunter Gerstenecker, Mathias Mendler, Armin Müller, Joachim Müller, Wolfgang Müller, Rainer Müller, Uwe Sauter, Stefan Seeger, and Markus Wolfer.
Taking place in Albstadt, „the sporting city of the swabian alb“, the Albstadt Bike Marathon is one of the largest sporting events in the region, attracting 1.500 participants and countless spectators cheering on. The grueling 86 km long race takes over 1600 meters of elevantion through one of the most beautiful mountain bike areas in Germany.
The event was a success for team Mayer, and with one execption everyone from the Mayer & Cie. MTB-Team made it through this grueling event. In contrast to last years event which was marked by rain, and cold weather and the resulting muddy conditions, this year was the exact opposite, being a very hot and sunny day, illustrating the variable weather conditions in Albstadt. As if last years race wasn’t tough enough already, this years race featured two more ascents and 4 km more than last years marathon.
Nevertheless the marathon can once again be considered as a success for Albstadt as well as for the Mayer & Cie. MTB Team who are eagerly looking forward to next year!
