Circular knitting market India.
Mayer & Cie. concentrates
consultancy and servicing.
Mayer & Cie. joined forces with its Indian sales and servicing partner Batliboi Ltd. from April 12-14, 2002 in staging a workshop to set a whole new future direction for the Indian market. In order to achieve its ambitious aim of conquering a 25% share of the circular knitting machine market in only a few years, radical structural changes had to be put in motion. This is a goal which can only be achieved on the back not just of improved products but also optimum customer consultancy and reliable, top-quality servicing.
To date, support for Mayer & Cie. circular knitting machines in India has been provided by the "Textile Machinery" division of Batliboi. The three-day workshop held in April was staged to pave the way for creation of a dedicated company division at Batliboi concentrating solely on Mayer & Cie. circular knitting machines. The new division "Knits Machinery" will be demonstrating an even greater level of com-petence in the future as a specialist representing world market leader Mayer & Cie. in the Indian market.
The standing of India alongside China as the world's leading growth market for circular knitting machines demonstrates the extreme importance attached to the Indian market.
Also testifying to the importance of the Indian market is the enormous commitment currently demonstrated by Mayer & Cie. in cooperation with the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) in a public-private partnership on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Development in Berlin.
The aim of this PPP is to train knitting specialists in India, with on-site support provided by Batliboi. The first PPP Training Centre was opened in 2001, with a second institute opening its doors just a few weeks ago.
These activities are a demonstration of Mayer & Cie.'s sense of responsibility to the market which extends far beyond the product circular knitting machines to encompass the entire "knitting" sector. While helping knitting factories to sharpen their competitive edge with future-oriented MCT products and services, Mayer & Cie. is also investing into the qualification of personnel - both on site, through the PPP project and suitable training and instruction courses and at home in its parent plant in Albstadt, Germany with qualified trainee programs which have long since enjoyed lively attendance by MCT customers.
