1905Six owners and staff members from four mechanical engineering companiers join on July 8th to form the "Vereinigte Mechanische Werkstätten Mayer & Cie., Tailfingen".
1918First export order: Circular loopwheel machines to Rumania.
1934Emil Mayer joins the company
    1935Construction of the first circular knitting machine.
1939Series production of circular knitting machines begins, alongside the existing circular loopwheel machine production.

Foundation of our subsidiary Mayer do Brasil domiciled in São Paulo

1965Peter Mayer enters the General Management after completing his degree.
1968The 10.000th circular knitting machine leaves the Tailfingen factory - an OVJA 36.
1972Rainer Mayer joins the company as second Managing Director.
     1980Mayer & Cie. supplies its 25.000th circular knitting machines in its 75th jubilee year.
     1987Relanit enters series production. A decisive step is made towards a single jersey technology for the future.
          1998Over 50,000 circular knitting machines have been supplied to more than 100 countries around the world. For the first time, annual production exceeds the 2,000 machine mark. Of these, 1,800 are produced in the Group Headquarters in Albstadt.
1999Mayer & Cie. is the first anywhere in the world to make use of Perunal, a totally new material, in the production of segments. Perunal has previously been used primarily in the aviation and aerospace industries.
2002The future generation of Mayer & Cie. begins with Marcus Mayer joining the company.
